Ralph Daniel Plaiss, of New Albany, Indiana, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with Flynn Brothers Contracting in Louisville, Kentucky and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Alma Vaughn Plaiss; his brother, William Plaiss; and his sisters, Rosalee Huff, Frances Pickard, Dora Mitchell and Hildreth Stamper.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Teresa McRae Plaiss; his sons, Chris Plaiss (Karen), Rob Plaiss (Karla) and Eric Plaiss (Autumn); his grandchildren, Cody Plaiss (Alyssa), Kayla Brackney (Luke), Macy Kraft (Justice), Kamryn Stoppert (Matt), Willow Plaiss and Iris Plaiss; his great-grandchild, Bonnie Bea; his brother, Robert Plaiss (Donna); and his sister, Georgia Hughes (Bob).
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery near Laconia, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
