James P. “Jim” Adams, 79, of Corydon, Indiana, died Thursday, February 19, 2026, at his home in Corydon. He was born, July 22, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Tom and Nellie Fortner Adams. He was retired after working in security for many years at the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana, was a former truck driver, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Jim was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandpa and friend to many, was a hunter, fisherman, loved to hunt mushrooms and watch his granddaughter play softball though out her school years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Adams; and his infant brother, Billy Adams.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Litch Adams, whom he married on April 11, 1970; his son, Brian Adams (Jennifer) of Corydon; his daughter, Kelley Myers of Corydon; his grandchildren, Taylor Myers, Lucas Myers (Bri), Logan Myers, Peyton Adams, Bryce Adams and Avery Adams; his sisters, Sharon Best (Gary) of Corydon and Linda Mason (Terry) of Glendale, Arizona; and many loving in laws, nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of Jim’s life from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Old Capitol Church in Corydon.
